Chestnut brown in colour and with a nutty taste to boot, our Manchester Brown Ale is a smooth drinking taste of the North West.
The unique blend of roasted malt paired with a hint of molasses gives this ale an easy feel to it with caramel and burnt sugar notes drawing you in and transcending into the body.
This refreshing drop has plenty of malty flavour and a soft, subtle finish and at 3.8% ABV, it goes down very easily. Ideal for a nice dark ale session.

Bottle at home – from ASDA a few weeks ago. Noy much in the nose of this one – just a vague maltiness. Pours the classic “bitter brown” with a strong off-white head. In the mouth the first thing that strikes is the sharpness – very piquant. Some fruitiness behind it but not much. Finish is dry and bitter. Not sure why this is called a brown ale – I can’t find anything to suggest it isn’t a standard bitter !

Bottle from Asda. Deep chestnut in colour, with a moderately-sized, off-white, head that left lacing down the glass. A very easy drinking brown ale, with brown sugar, a touch of berry fruit and nuttiness, before a very soft finish. Fine.

Clear dark brown in appearance, it has little aroma or flavour, but makes up with a very good texture.

500ml bottle from an off licence store in Chorlton. Clear red-brownish body. Fading off-white head, spotty lacing. Smell of earthy, semi-sweet malts. Toasted malts in flavour added by hints of dark fruits. Foamy in the mouth. Drinkable, standard stuff (hotel room, Manchester 07.07.2012).

Malty aroma with a touch of caramel. Quite a mild flavoured beer. Bittersweet with a smokey edge and a dry finish.
