[Cask at Back of Beyond, Reading] Nice light amber colour, no head or carbonation. Cinnamon evident from first taste, also wood and some cloves. This could potentially be a sickly sweet beer, but the brewer has managed a superb balancing job, a gentle bitterness offsetting just the right amount of spice. There is no stickiness at all, and this is an excellent beer. Its nice to see the Brits showing the world the correct way to deal with a beer style, after the awful Belgian Eccaussinnes Cookie Beer at the Wetherspoons sping beer festival!

Half pint hand pulled at the Wetherspoons real ale festival at Standing Order, Edinburgh. Red-brown pour with a slight haze. Missing head. Predominant smell of cinnamon. Lesser amount of cinnamon in the taste, more sweet malts and spicy fruits. Bitter, and a bit distracting yeast towards the finish [11.11.2008].

From cask at Standing Order. Pours slight cloudy orange with a small white head. Citric cinamon spiced aroma with a hint of malt. Solid cinnamon spiced flavoured with a mild malty base. Light sweet note to match the cinnamon but doesnt rescue the brew from being spiced by cinnamon. A bit balancd and subdued cinnamon would have done wonders.
