Cask at NWAF 2009. A pale amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt and pumpernickle bread - reminds me of a bock. The flavor is sweet with notes of pumpernickle bread and hints of sulphur, leading to a dry bitter finish. The body is light. OK - would be even better with more bock characteristics.

Bottle from Whistle Wines, Exeter. Chestnut coloured with a decent, off-white head. Aromas of jammy berry fruit and roasted malts. Flavour had plenty more blackcurrant and bramble fruit, some chocolate, caramel sweetness and roasty, dry finish. Good.
