Cask at The New Oxford, Manchester. A very dark brown beer with a red shine under a thin rim of beige head. The aroma has notes of both sweet and roasted malt as well as light notes of vegetables. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of roasted malt as well as lighter notes of vegetables, and burnt caramel, leading to a dry and lightly roasted finish. The body is light. I had hoped for more.

Cask at Bricklayers Arms Yorskhire Festival 09. Decent dark ale. Bit of liquorice. OK, like ruby stone fruit flavours, at least that’s what the notes say.
