Laitilan Kukko Lager is an international-class, pale, lager-type, full-malt beer. Kukko Lager, which is more heavily hopped than basic lagers, uses no starch in the brewing process, but the beer's flavour of grain comes from barley grown in Finland's fertile fields. The scent of the beer is clean and has aromas of freshly cut grass. The beer has a full-bodied flavour.

Aroma has butter and some grassy hops with hints of metal. Flavour has lots of butter, especially in the aftertaste. Grassy, hints of metal. Drinkable stuff, could have this in large quantities of just for thirst.

Can after can at the Lakeside Sauna near Laitila, Finland. Our hosts were good enough to get a couple of cases of this and although its a completely unremarkable euro lager with very little to recommend it, it was their local brew and it went down pretty well in the sauna. Jumping into the icy lake straight afterwards was a blast and that’s just about as Finnish an experience as you can get ! Kippis !

Kukko Lager is golden beer with light white head. Aroma is metallic, malty and bitter. Flavour is slightly fusty and bitter but not anymore metallic. Quite easy to drink with balanced carbonation. Kukko Lager can’t convince me, there are some aroma and taste but freshness is not there.

Can, 4.7%. Mildly bready aroma. Clear yellow colour. White head. The flavour is not too bad, quite bitter, slightly rough. With some malt and dust to it.
