On tap at Pizza Lucé. Pours a clear amber with a burnt orange hue and an off-white head that dissipates slowly to the edges and laces. Aroma has sweet grains with a nice smokiness and a bit of rye underlying. Flavor starts with light sweet grains and a bit of smoke that grows through the beer and has a touch of light woodiness.

Sampled at the In Cahoots 2014 event. Brown color with some red in the sunlight. Dry malt, bitter grain flavor. The aroma has some smoke, but this is not a rauchbier and the smoke character is very light. Still, very good beer.

Sample at Great Taste of the Midwest on 08/09/2014: The beer is a clear dark amber color with a medium foamy light beige head that recedes slowly. Clingy patches of lacing. Aroma of smoky malt, caramel and hops. Medium body with flavors of smoked malt, earthy hops and slight fruit. The finish is smoky with a burnt malt aftertaste. Above average overall.
