(On tap at A Night with GLB and Amsterdam Brewery event @ Bar Hop, Sept 19 2014) Pours a very hazy dark gold with a big lingering white head and lace. Aroma has orange pulp, Pinot Noir red fruit, brambles, light spice, a sourish Brett funk, and wood in the back but pretty prominently if that makes sense. Palate quite dry with a faint wheat sweetness. Orange pulp and red fruit qualities of Pinot at the start, joined by a light Bretty barnyard funk in the middle and some wood, drying out a lot on the finish with those elements joined at the very last by grain in the aftertaste. Feels just lovely in the mouth, medium-full and rich, soft. The barrel is quite noticeable in this beer but I really liked the resulting farmhouse, an enjoyable drink I’d have liked more of.
