(On tap at Bryden’s, Toronto, June 12 2014) Pours a very slightly hazed medium orange with a moderate, bubbly white cap and loads of lace. Aroma has a big punch of pink grapefruit flesh and zest that almost overwhelms, but there are dank resinous weed notes and a bit of caramel malt in behind as well. The palate is hop-forward as expected, initially a mix of grapefruit (not as powerful as in nose) and dank, resinous notes over a sweet caramel core makes for a sticky IPA, but the bitterness is pretty substantial from mid-palate on. That dries the beer out almost completely, a nice counterpoint to the sticky resinousness. Mouthfeel fairly average though carb a bit high. Seemed pretty grapefruit-forward on the IPA spectrum, but solid malt core, resin and higher bitterness make it quite enjoyable. Another good GL IPA...
