(Draught at Bryden’s, Sept 15 2013 as Tart Apricot, "saison refermented with apricots") Pours a hazy medium gold with a mid-sized dense white head, lots of lace. Aroma is mostly apricot (sweet and tart), funk, slight sour note, bit of cereals. Flavour is initially quite sour, lactic, apricot is there but definitely not sweet and fruity. It builds more towards the finish along with a barnyard character and a bit of grain. The finish is dry and just a little tart, and there is definitely an apricot note. Body is light, carb moderate and effervescent. This is a fairly sour ale, I’m assuming because of whatever went on during refermentation. I find it very refreshing, and more interesting than your average apricot beer.
