(Draught at Bryden’s, Toronto ON, June 22nd 2013) Pours a slightly hazed burnt orange with a frothy white head, leaves lace. Aroma of bready, lightly spiced saison yeast and pale malt, light tang of ginger, a bit peppery. Flavour reveals the giner more, bright and tangy on the palate with some dry yeasty flavours underneath, a bit of grain and some sweetness from the malt but also a faint tart pucker. Peppery finish, lingering ginger, dry and crisp. Lighter body, lively carbonation. Ginger doesn’t overwhelm as in some beers, drinkable and refreshing.
