33cl bottle from Victoria @ the Stockbridge market. Appearance - a very dark amber with a red chink on the edges. The head is nicely proportioned with some lacing remaining as the beer goes down. Nose - lovely elegant sweet malt note, it has something of an 80 shilling thing. Taste - intermingled citrus pith with malt. Palate - a medium body with a challenging malty texture that finishes a little bit dry and malty, rather than being hoppy fresh. Overall - the appearance and the nose promised a better beer.
