25 cl bottle at Royal Theatre. Dark amber colour with a creamy off-white head. Sweet aroma with caramel malts, nuts, bread, spices and ripe fruits. Taste is sweet. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Pleasent mouthfeel. Finishes slightly drying with caramel malts, spices and fruits. Pleasent and well balanced without being overly exiting.

Flaske 500ml kjøpt på DFDS mellom København og Oslo. Drukket på rom 428 på Thon Hotel Astoria i Oslo. Brun. Høyt kremaktig skum som daler sakte. Spotlacing. Lett krydderaroma. Smaken marsipan & julekaker. Lite variasjon.

50cl bottle shared by Arve_Christian - thanks a lot! Pours clear mahogany with a modest beige head. Malty and caramelly aroma with hints of dried dark fruits. Medium sweet with fruity and malty flavours and hints of acidity. Not a pleasant Christmas beer, but drinkable.

Tap. Dark amber/brown with small tan head. Aroma is malt, caramel, fruit and nutty. Flavour is malt, light nutty, fruit, little chocolate and dark fruits.

500ml bottle bought at the Magasin store in Copenhagen. Ultra clear, deep ruby-brown. Noisy, beige head. Modest aroma of mid-sweet malts. Dark caramel malts in flavour added by brown sugar. Some hops to the ending, only partially keeping the sweetness at bay. Not more than ordinary (hotel room, 12.11.2010).

First rating: Medium beige head. Deep dark red body is barely translucent. Roasty earthy wild berry aroma with buttery notes. Dry roasty earthy caramel taste with metal notes. Mid-bodied. Sharpish metallic mouthfeel. Dry caramelly earthy aftertaste with hoppy metallic notes. Not at all bad, but very earthy. (0.25l bottle, gift.) 6,4,6,3,12=3.1
Second rating: Medium beige head. Clear deep dark red body. Earthy sugary aroma, a bit like dark wort. Sweet caramelly syrupy taste with earthy notes. Mid-bodied. Mild, soft mouthfeel. Sweetish metallic peppery syrupy aftertaste with caramelly cocos notes. Very little flavour, and what’s there is not really very interesting. Too sweet, too. (0.5l bottle, from tax-free shop aboard DFDS Seaways, Oslo-Copenhagen.) 5,4,5,3,11=2.8

70cl bottle at home. clear dark brown, thick light brown head. smells like a ’classic’ of style vienna. malts, caramel. flavor is roasted malts, sweetness, nice faint fruitiness (from orange peel or spices or hops), caramel. quite strong flavor. very nice christmas brew if you’re not into over spiced beer. good composition.

Bottle 70cl. @ home.Clear medium to dark red amber color with a average, frothy - creamy, good lacing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, roasted, caramel. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium to light, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft. [20081124]
