We recently made a beer on behalf of Isetan, the renowned department store, and a place that was amongst the first retailers to sell our beer. In fact, Kyoto Isetan was the first! With the emphasis on valuing long-term relationships, the beer is called "Enishi", a word that means "connection" with nuances of "fate" in Japanese, and to this end we went in the direction of a highly drinkable saison with a beautiful yeast character.
Golden in colour, and with a dry mouthfeel, this beer is both refreshing while being characterful enough, with slightly tropical and spicy flavor accents. Its soft, moderate sweetness and crispness make it very approachable, as well as a good fit for the wide variety of foods one might find in an Isetan food hall.
The beer is limited, and so you'll have to go to the Queen's Isetan , the Shinjuku Isetan store, the Urawa Isetan store, the Kyoto Isetan store to enjoy it for now, with the beer's sales starting today, February 19th (Wednesday).
Sales will be expanded to our online store and taproom from Feb 28th (Friday).

KBC x Isetan Enishi Saison 5%

An Isetan exclusive it’s a deep golden yellow with white foam and a rich stone fruit and spice aroma. It smells midway between a singel and a saison to be honest. Medium bodied with a dry finish. The taste starts off spicy and ends with rich stone fruit. Nice stuff.

Can from Isetan. Bright golden color, almost clear, with a medium head. Fruity nose, citrus, stone fruit, biscuits, spicy yeast, touch of honey. Spicy, estery, fruity flavor, with bready malt and biscuits, grapefruit zest, white pepper, and some herbs. Light, malty, bitter finish. Easy drinking.
