Inspired by the beauty of autumnal Somerset, this dark ruby red ale uses a complex blend of crystal malts to provide nice malty transition to the darker ales of winter.
This beer provides a balance of gentle caramel maltiness, slight roast and hints of floral, citrusy fresh hop fruitiness.
Nicely balanced with moderate toffee-like malt sweetness countered by a measured dose of hop bitterness which builds a bit and dries out in the finish, lingering with a crisp, earthy and spicy note

Cask-conditioned at the Commercial Rooms (JDW), Bristol 28/8/2023. Reddish-amber in colour, with a frothy, off-white, head. Leafy hops, red berries, some caramel, rich malts, a hint of orange peel and a moderately bitter finish. Good.
