From a 500ml bottle on 18/8/2018 (ABV listed as 14.8%, bottled on 18/10/17, batch no. 8744). Pours a relatively clear deep golden with a few yeast floaties, and a small head to medium head. Has a strong aroma of caramel, campfire ash and bacon. This is a big and complex beast on the sup - lots of caramel and toffee, dried fruit, a bit of brown sugar, umami, and bacon, with a vinous, boozy warmth at the back which lets you know your drinking a serious beer. The texture is slick and syrupy with moderate carbonation. A rich, long and complex sipper. Has more than a touch of an old fave of mine, the 2013 HopDog Superbeast, about it. Very nice.
