Tap at Churchkey during Craft Brewers Conference. Poured a clear copper color with a small white head. Aroma is boozy, sweet malt. Flavor is sickly sweet maple syrup notes. Pecans weren’t really all that noticeable unfortunately. This would probably be a lot better if the alcohol content was lower - way too hot, way too boozy.

Shared bottle, poured to tulip. Brown with small, quickly fading head. Roasted pecan aroma. It was too sweet, but yet it seemed syrupy. Interesting combination of maple syrup and nuts, but it didn’t work for me.

Bottle. Deep amber/ruby body. Fizzy, off-white head, diminishing. Aroma of caramel, maple sugar, raisin, plum, wood, alcohol, nuts. The flavor is moderately sweet and lightly bitter. It finishes moderately sweet and lightly to moderately bitter. Medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation. Peppery alcohol finish. Taste of bread, overripe fruit, maple syrup. Interesting beer. Sweet flavors balanced by the alcohol.

Bottle. Sour toasty malt and light maple syrup aroma. Murky brown with a small light tan head, heavy suspended white sediment. Sour toasty malt flavor with a roasty bitter finish. Alcohol well hidden. Medium body and carbonation. Overall, very acidic and not in a good way.

Cloudy brown beer. Semi soft palate. Low carbonation. Slightly sour nose. Sourish beer. Light spice, a little coca cola. The mid is sweeter, honeyish. Finishes with more mildly sour malt, spice and a little maple sweetness. Bitterish aftertaste.

Sampled at EBF Saturday afternoon. Slightly hazy deep brown color with a stingy head that dissipate quickly. Smells of caramel brown sugar with a maple earthy nutty thing going on and a hint of alcohol. Taste is a bit sweet with caramel and brown sugar, earthy nutty and very tasty. Medium body moderate carbonation with a sweet mouthfeel. I’ve wanted to try this for a while now, and now I want more. Nice big thick brown.

12oz bottle-thanks to jtclockwork for sharing–pours a light brown head with trailing lace and black color. Aroma is dark malt-chocolate/roasty/maple, nutty. Taste is dark malt-chocolate/roasty/some ashy, maple/nutty, some hops. OK carbonation.

Bottle thanks to Northernbrews. Pours black. Tan head. Nose and taste of raisin, maple, pecan, chocolate and dark malt. Mouth feel is decent, but a bit thin. Otherwise, an excellent brew.

12oz bottle pours amber with copper edges and tan head. The aroma has loads of walnut skins, fruity esters, weird earthy spicy plastic and an overall sense of malfunction. The taste offers up a huge level of nuttiness as well as slightly lesser notes of spiciness, fruity esters, tartness and plastic toys from Toy r Us. Hmmm.

Cloudy fiery orange-red-brown body, medium to thin dissipating yellowish tan head. Sweet aroma with maple syrup, brown sugar, and toast. Sweet and sharp body with significant maple notes in addition to red grapes, nuts, and toast, finishing with prickly alcohol heat and bitter notes. Plenty of chewy sugars. Warming, rich, and potent.
