BARREL AGED BARLEYWINE
Since the beginning of time, people have slightly misinterpreted and reinterpreted each others words... and beers. The study of words’ original intentions has always been a thing - see Yaska, Sanskrit Grammarian circa 7th Century BCE. Same with beer. Which leads us to the question: what exactly is a barleywine?
Etymology is a bottled blend of two very different but equally delicious variations of barleywine. One a nuanced, ultra toasty American Barleywine (Etym 2024*) and the other a dark, rich, 20 month barrel aged English-style Barleywine (Ology 2024*). After months of study and reflection, we blended the two to create a bold and balanced beer.
Ology (2024) is one of the component parts - comprising 60% of the final blend.
Etymology 2024 is a select blend of American & English Barleywines:
OLOGY is one of the component parts: an English Style Barleywine aged in Westward Whiskey Barrels for 20 months

Medium brown. Soft body, nice raisiny, figgy character. Rounded vanilla, barrel warmth. Almost some berryish accents in there as well.
