On tap at the Old Fountain. Clear paleish gold beer. No real head. Very mild carbonation. Pleasant mild citrus - orange, a little lemon and grapefruit. Semi dry finish. Refreshing but could use some body. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Kew Steam Ale on 05 Jan 2016 at 07:30 - Score: Appearance - 8 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 5 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 4. The Pigs Ear wrap up tasting at ChrisO’s. Lightly hazy pale gold beer, a few pale cream colour bubbles. Light dry palate, decent fine carbonation. Papery pale malts. Light floralness and spice. Mild dry fruits and ripe citrus. Dry finish. Meh!

Draught at London Brewers’ Alliance Showcase event on 17th Sept 2010. Slightly hazy gold with a lasting white head. Lovely grapefruit hops and grassiness with some cheesy notes, rather like a US IPA yet only 4.4%. Bitter, hoppy finish, and a textured mouthfeel. A good pint.

Cask at London Brewers Showcase. Pours clear honey with a foam head. Bread, fruit and nuts hold the aroma. Flavor is fairly sweet with a nice, bready malt character. Light to medium in body. Well balanced with a clean finish and light hops notes. Good sessioner. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Kew Steam Ale on 10 Dec 2015 at 16:33 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 6 | Flavor - 6 | Texture - 6 | Overall - 6.5. Original review text: Bottle shared at the chriso and Ruth pre-Christmas / post-Pigs Ear holiday tasting of 2015 - London. Cheers! Pours clear gold with a bubbly white head. The nose holds lemon, pale grains and hay. Light to medium sweet flavour, with more pale grains, ripe lemon, cereal. Light in body with average carbonation. Sugary finish, with notes of crackers, cereal, further grains and ripened lemon. So so.

(Cask at Speaker, Westminster, London, 27 Nov 2009) Golden amber colour with frothy, off-white head. Fruity, hoppy nose with notes of grapefruit and fresh hops. Fruity taste with citrus (grapefruit), apricots and fresh citrussy, lemony hops in a rather bitter finish. Light body, balanced sweetness. Very nice and refreshing bitter with a generous hop character (as usual with the Twickenham ales).
