Bottle thanks to the brewer Steve: Poured a reddish brown with a huge tan color head that left nice lace around the glass. Aroma was thick of chocolate, licorice, and roasted malt. Taste was soft coffee, roasted malt, bakers chocolate, and spice.

Bottle at the brewery courtesy of Steve, shared with SHIG. Dark ruby brown color, big tan head, great lacing. Aroma of subtle cocoa, coffee, vanilla. Taste has chocolate, cocoa, vanilla with a smoke edge and medium body. Good character and complexity. Very drinkable.

Bottled. A dark brown beer with a thin brown head. The aroma has strong notes of roasted malt, also lending it a bit of acidity. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and roasted bread. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Cask at Københavns Øldage 2009, Valby. Pours a dark brown color with a thin fast disappearing tan head. Has a roasted malty coffee aroma with hints of dark fruit. Sweet fruity roasted malty coffee flavor with some weak hints of dark fruit. Has a sweetish roasted malty coffee finish with some hints of chocolate in the aftertaste.

Cask at Copenhagen Beerfestival. It’s a flat, dark brown beer almost without head. Burnt and roasted nose with dried fruits. Roasted and burnt flavor too, quite coffee-ish, with some notes of dms. Flat, medium full, dry mouthfeel. The finish is bitter of the roasted kind. I might not sound very enthusiastic about this one, but it was actually quite nice. (090517)

Gravicask, shared with Skinnyviking at the Copenhagen Beer Festival 09. Devil black body. Fragile bubbles on the top. Pleasant to the nose with mild hints of liquorice. Flavoured with sweet dark malts and a touch of cocoa. Slightly roasted. Rather vapid on the palate. Needs more body (15.05.2009).
