Nice hoppiness

Bottle. Golden color. Slightly herbal soft citric aroma with ripe fruit and mint. Malty sweet flavor with toffee. Floral with ripe tropical fruit. Restrained hop character. Decent.

The festival beer of All In Beer Fest 2017, a hazy IPA. Obviously a bit too old by now, but let's check it out anyway. Opens with a fierce hiss, but no gushing. Snow white, intricately lacing, frayed, unstable and opening head over a hazy lemony-yellow beer with pale orangey tinge, turning into a deeper ochre-ish orange murkiness with sediment. Aroma of a lot of freshly squeezed lime juice, unripe starfruit, yellow plums, dried lemonbalm, fennel seed, sweet tomatoes, grape peel, dough, grapefruit juice. Sweet and sourish onset, lime, green plum, unripe melon and starfruit notes, lively carbonation, fluffy and sourdoughy basis under an aromatic, very zesty and very lime-like 'modern' hoppiness, fresh grapefruit, lime blossom and dried lemonbalm springing to mind, some lingering fruity sourishness but the peppery bitterness of the hops prevails, followed by a hint of warming alcohol. Interestingly different IPA with a lime- and herb-like profile, juicy and very zesty, I wonder what this must have tasted like in young and fresh condition at the festival for which it was made...

8 3 8 4 16 Draft at Rootz Winterbier festival '17. Very hazy dark dull golden with a white head. Aroma of citrus, lychee, tropical fruits. Flavour is light to moderate sweet and moderate bitter. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Tap at Rootz winterbier festival. Hazy golden amber with thin white head. Sweet tropical fruits and grassy and weedy hops. Moderate sweet and bitter. Medium body and soft carbonation. Tap at Rootz festival. Quite hazy dark golden with beige head. Grapefruit, dank weedy hops, light caramel, passion fruit, soft herbs. Medium sweet, bitter and bodied. Quite a nice IPA!
