reDANKulous Imperial Red IPA is a no frills, bold 9.5% ABV India Pale Ale. It pours a pleasing burnt amber with some sweetness due to the Caramalt and roasted barley used in the malt bill. But hops are the true headliner in this elaborate sensory experience. The spicy, piney, tropical complexities of Chinook, Mosaic and Simcoe hops hit you right away with their dank aroma—and they stick around. Bottle. Creamy off-white good fully lasting head. Dark amber colour. Moderate malty and haevy hoppy aroma. Pine and hern¨bs. Heavy bitter wonderfull flavor. Long heavy bitter finish. Creamy palate. Excellent.

Bottle from Craftissimo at home. Hazy almost opaque deep copper amber-brown pour with white somewhat sticky head. Aroma is dank - as promised - resin with some caramel. Taste follows. Very dank green resinous hops with smooth sweet malt in the background. Nice big red IPA. Very resinous with warm sweet malt. Would get again for HK$40

Bottle. Dark red color. Aroma of citrus, pine, resinous hop and caramel. Bitter taste of mildly caramelised malt, pine, citrus, red fruit and resinous hops. Bitter hoppy finish. Nice hoppy strong ale.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours a clear nutty brown with a dense, beige head. Nutty nose, biscuity malts, some alcohol coming through. Rich body, super malty and caramellish, never cloyingly sweet though, rather spicy - rye? Some late, warming alcohol but never boozy. Super delicious if not extremely complex. 090116

Draft. Bronze beer with a light tan head. Nice grapefruit aroma. Grapefruit and tropical fruit flavor with pine. Medium bodied. Good bitterness. Grapefruit and tropical fruit linger with pine and backing caramel.

Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, caramel, dusty malt, moderate hoppy, orange - citrus, tangarins, fruity hops. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, hoppy, fruity hops, orange, tangarine, caramel, dusty malt. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft. Bottle shared at a tasting at Lior D’s place. Better Beer Of The Month Club. Nice reddish amber with a big beige head. Aroma of malt, caramel, piney hops, a bit stale. Sweetish flavor, malty, with caramel, and bitter piney and fruity hops, slightly stale. Medium-bodied. Decent.

Taste is medium sweet and medium to heavy bitter with a long caramel, piney, grapefruit and citrus finish. Body is full, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

Bottle from Whole Foods Columbus Circle, Manhattan, New York, USA. A ruby/amber coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Hoppy, sweet, malty, fruity, caramel aroma. Tastes pretty much the same, sweet, hoppy, malty, fruity, caramel and rich. A redankulously good imperial IPA from one of my favourite breweries.
