What better time to introduce our very first barrel-aged sour than in celebration of four years in Baltimore? This golden ale spent more than two years resting in red wine barrels, with both lactobacillus and brettanomyces introduced along the way. The resulting beer is tart, funky, and extraordinarily quaffable. This delicious and unique project represents a labor of love for our head brewer Sean and his team.

16oz can I picked up at the brewery. Pours a hazy orange with a cap of white head. Nose is punchy, grapefruit pulp, some nettles, natural wine, soured barrel. Flavor is very sour, grapefruit and champagne and natural wine and some rice wine vinegar. Full bodied, tart, acetic finish. There was a sweet grape character at the end that helped smooth out the edges.
