A mouth-watering cask conditioned ale based on a 200 year old traditional Welsh recipe, so if you think it's a bit old-fashioned- you are correct.
The taste of this best bitter is due to the subtle addition of crystal and chocolate malts to the base Maris Otter pale ale malt. The initial well balanced taste gives way to a delicate smoked finish.

Panda at home, thanks to Graham Grumbo, 21/07/24. Another gushing panda although not as severe as the last one! Amber pour with an off white head that thins to a swirl. Nose is stewed fruits, biscuit, vinous, herb, hedgerow. Taste comprises tangy fruits, perhaps a slight off note, twiggy, light phenolic yeasty tones. Medium bodied, light prickly carbonation, semi drying close. So so ... perhaps a mild infection with this one?

Bottle. Color: Clear amber, beige head. Aroma: Caramel malt. Tasye: Smooth, caramel malt, floral hoppy background. Notes of lightly roasted toast. Medium body, below average carbonation. Moderate sweet and light to moderate bitterness. Dry-ish bittery finish, getting bone dry and more bitter when standing longer.
