For our newest collaboration with the Barrel Culture crew we got a little sneaky with the adjuncts in an imperial stout. Layered under the delicious decadence of cocoa and fudge, you'll find a juicy, zesty dose of orange to bring the flavor profile to the next level. If you ever found a chocolate orange in your stocking as a kid, you can expect a similarly sweet treat in this beer. The Undercover Orange is low-key one of our favorite ways to level up a big bold beer, and we hope you share our sweet tooth.

Reviewed from notes.
Can to snifter.
Appearance: black in the pour and black in the glass with a half a finger's worth of tan foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: some chocolate notes with some orange juice, light roasty to chicory-like whiffs, subtle coffee further down in
Flavor: combines the prior noted aromas to a fair sweet to semi-orange juicy toned sweet and/or zest-ish sort of quality with some chocolate and a little bit of coffee; finishes orangey and chocolatey
Texture: medium bodied, good as a sipper; some smoothness but also a little bit of zesty pop nipping the tongue ever so slightly
Overall: it works. I believe they did what they were going for with this one.

16oz can pours an oily black with some wispy beige head. Nose is huge with orange zest and orange juice and orange candy, orange oil? Licorice and chicory. Flavor is malty and sweet with citrus, orange zest and juice, big spice and licorice and malt and molasses. Very full bodied, long, sweet, sticky finish.
