Dark amber color. The aroma is a bit phenolic. Medium sweet mouthfeel, with some bitter honey and herbs, and too much alcohol. Not right.

Bottle, shared by Enjoyit. Copper to golden body, completely without anything resembling head. Spices, honey, sweetness, some heather and a good oxidation in the aroma. The oxidation is very evident in the flavor too, and so is the honey sweetness and spices, as well as heather. Raisins as well, but in the background. Even though it’s 19% ABV, the alcohol isn’t pushing. Full-bodied and warming. Really pleasant, well-crafted, balanced mead. (080229)
