Bottled 330ml. -from Rudat Dortmund. Almost black coloured, medium sized beige head, mild chocolate in the noe. Roasted malt, milk chocolate, caramel, dried fruits and notes of cocoa powder with discreet alcohol presence in the finish. It’s strong, it’s potent but the BBE date is really optimistic...23.09.2029...LOL!!!

Black color with beige compact head. Dark bread aroma. Good body, lean; very good dark malt flavor, roasty, dark chocolate, dark bread, maybe a bit of smoke, and traces of liquorice. Moderate sweetness. Balanced.

Sample from 33 cl. bottle. Pitch black with a dense, lightly tanned head. Roasted aroma with licorice, bread, chocolate, coffee, soy sauce and dark malts. Taste is bitter. Medium to full body, oily texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and roasted. Nice Stout.

33 cl bottle. Pours dark brown to black with a small tan head. Aroma is roasted and breadish. Breadish and caramelish. Dry and bitter, slight herbal. Dry and roasted malty finish.

At a tasting, thanks zvsn, small stable creamy bubbly head, dark brown color, aroma of soy and fish sauce with some wood, flavor of dark chocolate, soy and hints of dates quite sweet but also salty. Very nice and quite original.

Bottle shared at the July 2014 chriso tasting - London. Pours black-brown with a frothy beige head. The nose holds dark bread, dark fruits and chocolate. Medium to big sweet flavor with oily chocolate, brownies, dark cherries. Medium to full bodied with fine carbonation and chewy texture. Lightly warming on the finish with more rich sugary dark bread, chocolate, earth, raisins, burnt toffee. Quite impressive, actually. Nicely played, Germany.

Flasche (33 cl) von Hopfen & Malz, Berlin-Wedding. - Tiefes Schwarzbraun, undurchsichtig; beeindruckende kaffeebraune Schaumkrone, die schöne Ringe hinterläßt. - In der Nase tiefes dunkles Malz, kräftiges Röstmalz, Bitterschokolade, Mokka und milder Hopfen. - Antrunk intensiv röstmalzig, fast angebrannt, mit Mokka, sehr bitterem Kakao und erdiger Hopfenbittere, im Hintergrund schöne Karamelsüße, abgeschmeckt mit dem nötigen Quentchen fruchtiger Säure. Mild rezent, sehr vollmundig, weich im Mund. Im Abgang nicht zu wenig erdiger Hopfen, immer noch starke Röstaromen und deutliche alkoholische Schwere. - Wuchtiges Imperial Stout mit schwerem Röstmalz und passender Süße, nicht so trocken wie manche andere. Störend nur die leicht fuselige Note zum Schluß.
