Bottle with Yanick. Pours amber with off white head. Nose/taste of pulled pork, smoked caramel malt, fire pit, peat, smoked wood and light charcoal. Tons of smoke - very dominate in the nose and palate. Medium body. On a side note, this is the second beer today I’ve had brewed with "manuka." Seriously.

Pours dark amber with a large, quickly fading head.Nose shows prominent smoke, as in smoked meat smoke. Also some woody character. Underneath is sweet rich malt and caramel hints.Smoke carries through as a flavour along with the caramel. Finishes weakly with a faint grainy character.Nice moderate carbonation and rich body.

7% version. Clear brown, puffy beige head. Medium bead. Smoke, caramel, wood, grass. Taste has caramel and honey sweetness (although I suppose the honey is just a brain misfire due to having had tea-tree honey), a touch of lager sourness and plenty of smoke. I didn’t really get any sense of bacon or ham. Slightly sticky mouthfeel. Alcohol dangerously well-hidden. Interesting smoke character adds a local touch to what is otherwise a pretty German-tasting brew. Could be more smoke and it lacks the depth of some smoked beers, but this is a solid drop.

Re-rate, aged 1.5yrs, which really helped this beer IMO. Tons of smoked Gouda. Very big malty backbone. Malty. Rating is blended Peaty, smokey nose with a touch of manuka honey. The mouth is unbalanced with only a faint hint of smokey and honey. Sweet. Much more like a Scotch ale than anything else. OK.

Bottled. A hazy reddish beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has strong notes of fruit as well as medium notes of malt, berries, and caramel. The flavor is sweet malty combined with notes fo beech wood smoke, as well as a light acidity, leading to a dry smokey finish. The alcohol leaves a ligth burn in the finish. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of yalnikim/bozoNZ. Pours a clear, dark amber with a creamy, beige head. Very smoky aroma with a whiff of caramel. Medium body, very sweet, burned caramel and then these fat, baconish Bamberg style smoky notes. Slightly burned in the finish. 310108
