Maple Imperial Stout aged in Maryland Heritage Series 14-Year Rye Barrels
This batch started with 90% Imperial Stout and 10% dark maple syrup from Maine. We aged it for a year in some of the best smelling Rye Whiskey barrels we've ever used! The spirit and wood help cut through the sweetness of the beer while adding layers of vanilla, baking spice, and a faint smokey char. The result is maple-caramel topped chocolate mousse with a rye old fashion.

Black with a beige head. Boozy with whiskey and red wine then sweet malt, caramel and maple. Very long finish. Full bodied.
