Whitewater’s aromatic russet ale is brewed with the addition of wheat and roasted barley. Rich fruitiness and gentle hop flavour leading to its smooth succulent finish.

Bitter that is slightly better than average. It has some mild biscuit notes and a some even milder fruit notes. It’s bitterness is its dominant character and its full body makes this a touch milder than it might be. Deep golden colour and keeps a thick head.

Bottle at (parent’s) home - 26/08/12 - thanks to Steve ’beers I’ve known’. Pours a slightly obscured copper colour with a decent blob of off-white head. Lively carbonation is visible and quite a bit of lacing ensues. Malt forward nose with dark fruit, raisen and sugars. Taste follows the nose with a slightly metallic flavour leading to a moderate bitter finish. Medium bodied with slightly prickly carbonation, a little too much of the latter! Drinkable beer but file under ’W’ for whelmed!

Pint from cask at the Crown Liquor Saloon, Belfast. Clear copper coloured with a creamy light brown head. Aroma of hops, malt and caramel with a hint of spices. Light to medium body, slightly watery. Surprisingly bitter and quite fruity, medium sweet. Bitter finish and aftertaste, quite nice, but a bit boring. (2011-06-09)

50cl bottle. Pours a lovely transparent copper with very steady bubbles and a great head. The nose has toffee and dried apricots. The taste has toffee and some pungent spicy earthiness, probably parsnip I think. The palate is medium in structure, creamy in texture and there is a long dry finish. The first ale I’ve rated from my homeland and I’m delighted - a great ale whether you have one or twenty one, I reckon.
