250ml pour is a chunky, viscous caramel brown with just a little grey head. Nose has caramel, toffee, malts, barrel is there and its clearly cheaper whiskey, not in a bad way, just giving the obvious. Flavor starts the same, sweet and sugary, a very starchy note rolls in, at first I thought it was buckwheat, now I'm not sure. Barrel gives more of an herbal note, like sumac or witchhazel. Finishes full bodied, a little astringent. 7 3 7 3 13
