Brewed in honor of Father’s Day, Cargo Schwarzbier is a hard-to-find dark lager style with a smooth maltiness and toasty, “biscuit” character. A traditional German-style beer, this black lager has a dark, grizzled exterior due to its dark roasted malts. However, it is actually quite smooth and approachable, much like dear old Dad. So raise your glass in celebration of #1 dads, the world’s greatest shorts and super-duper beer.

Sampled at the brewery, pours a root beer brown, ring of white head. Nose is sweet with brown sugar and tamarind, dark bread. Flavor follows, sweet and sugary, some malt, some cola. Watery finish. Nope.
