Dulle Teve is brewed with a white candy in the kettle and has 10 percent alcohol per volume. It is for sale almost all year round in the brewery.
Dulle Teve is a swear name used in the region for a nasty woman. This was first used by a pub owner who wanted his own beer and was tasting two different possibilities in the Oerbar. His wife became increasingly impatient and phoned him. At that moment the pub owner remarked: "Do you know what you are? A dulle teve!" The brewer immediately saw possibilities: "Now we have to make a beer, we already have the name," he said.

It is always a good day to try a new Belgian of any kind and De Dolle has been pleasant to me previously. I got this 33 cl bottle from a considerate seller in Aalborg, Denmark earlier this year. I tilt into my Cowtown snifter for the tasting, the arrival is an opaque, gold-orange completed by a monstrous snow white head replenished by an active carbonation. Nice start. The smell is yellow fruit, cut hay and raisin. The taste is even better. There is apricot, nectarine, a yeasty presence, white bread, a small fructose sweetness and just a touch of bitterness. I find some tripels to be somewhat thin, not the case here. Top level all around.

Bottle at Aba-Jour. Cloudy amber colour with big white head. Aroma is predominantly boozy and sweet. Bit of caramel. Taste is same, extremely sweet and you can feel the alcohol. Very chewy and quiet full bodied. After taste gives a bit of biscuit, but everything struggles to get past the overwhelming booziness. My least favourite De Dolle beer, but I love De Dolle, so that is not a criticism. This one is maybe just a bit too strong and sweet for me.

0,33 l bottle. Pours hazy deep golden with a finger of long lasting off white head. Aroma of malt, dough, yeast, a bit of barnyard, fruity, light spicy scent. Alcohol is almost perfectly hidden. Taste is quite heavy sweet, medium bitter with a hint of sourness. Body is full, mouthfeel oily and carbonation average. Finish is long, a wide range of flavors with strong peppery bitterness.

Hops, grapefruit and liquorice in the aroma. Strong hopbitter, herbal taste with some liquorice. Loads of hops and a slight tartness. Alcohol burn. Full bodied with some sweetness shining through the hops. A bit too hoppy, nevertheless a fine beer.

12/04/2019 @home - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck. Hazy golden, with big white head. Nose is malts, fresh fruits, candi sugar. Taste is sweet malts, sweet fruits, candig sugar, bit spices, bitter fruits, hops. Nice dry ending. Top tripel.

Tap @Foeders, Amsterdam, sample. Cloudy deep golden colour, tall frothy white head, good retention and lacing. Aroma sweet malt, candy sugar, yeast, apricot, tangerine, pomello. Taste medium sweet and light bitter and sourish notes, malty, fruity, yeast, light alcohol, bit woody. Medium to full body, oily texture, soft carbonation, aftertaste as in taste, woody and alcohol notes. Excellent completely untypical tripel, easy to drink.

Van de tap in Foeders op 18-4-2019 met Huub. Troebel gouden kleur, wit schuim. Geen zoete tripel, licht bitter, uitstekend.

Lys brun klar med høyt hvitt skum. Lukter fyldig karamell, alkohol og trevirke. Fyldig. Søt maltig smak, eik, noe honning, gjær, alkohol, floralsk og korn. Middels lang.
