Clear copper pour, with a small white head. Aroma is very nutty, with light roasted malts hints of coffee, bread. Mouth feel is soft, carb is more of the same. Low bitterness soft sweetness. I'm not sure I'm getting much bitter characteristics from this. It's more a nice brown ale. It's lacking that UK Hop presence. Not sure of the hop bill, but if goldongs or fuggles weren't used, it would a welcome addition I think. If they were used, more is called for.

Cleanish, amber colour with a light beige cap, average stay and some light lacing. Aromas are. big, with caramel, nuttiness, a touch of coffee, wood. The taste is a little less rich, balanced by the hops, creating a cutting, drying finish. Thankfully not as sweet in the flavours with mild grassiness blending things. Some woody tart left on the tongue. A nice, stronger English Ale that has punch.
