Refreshing, balanced and full of flavour. This is a captivating golden ale, sophisticated in taste and rich in colour. Edinburgh Gold pours deep gold with a white head. On the nose is a complex blend of noble hops and a little caramel sweetness. The taste is medium to light-bodied with continental hops and moderate bitterness providing a pleasing smooth finish.

@ Barony Bar. Golden-brown colour. Pale malt on the nose and palate. Smooth, sweet, actually kind of bland. Very sraightforward brew.

cask at Guildford Arms - Pours mostly clear golden with a bready malt aroma and taste. It’s a light, easy going brew with a bit of hops. While it’s a damn sight better than drinking macro lagers, it’s an average brew at best.

Small creamy white head. Paleish yellow body. Faint floral aroma. Sweet fruity floral taste with faint vinegary sugary traces. Mild, smooth mouthfeel. Mid-bodied. Dry-sweetish fruity metallic aftertaste. Imperfect. (0.25l cask, Guildford Arms, Edinburgh.)

Half pint by air pressure dispense at The Bow Bar in Edinburgh. Crystal clear amber body under a thin, white lacing-head. Fruity aroma with notes of sweet caramel. Firm dry hopped taste added a touch of light caramel. Nice bitter ending. Medium bodied and fine balanced. 24.10.2008.
