A refreshing dark beer! Dark brown with a white head. Roast malt/coffee notes on the nose lead to chocolate-vanilla and prickly hops on the palate. Finish is cleansing and refreshing.

The first beer in a trio of Orkney beers drank in The Plough, Shifnal during a CAMRA pub crawl on 14th Dec 13. Hand-pulled half-pint: dark brown with a red hue, on top an off-white blanket of foam. The nose and taste were over roasted, almost burnt malts that gave a dark chocolate and ground coffee bean aroma and flavour. Semi-bitter in the aftertaste this is a good traditional Mild and well worth seeking out. Full bodied and almost rich (for a Dark Mild) in texture.
