Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - murky brown with a decent head. Nose - tangy pineapple, lemon sherbet. Taste - much more enjoyable than the nose, a touch of toffee and then banana and pineapple. Palate - medium bodied with a creamy texture and a fairly balanced finish, though a bit short. Overall - not enough going on for this style.

500ml bottle (Waitrose Bavarian Dunkel Weissbier): BBD Oct 15, poured into a Weizen glass in Dec 14. Murky brown, with a full and lasting off-white head. Nose was of bread yeastiness, light caramel and spice hints. The taste a bit bland and disappointing with only traces of flavour, banana mostly, yet very weak even then. Expected more depth and flavour.

Bottle from Waitrose, Rickmansworth. Great aroma of wheat, yeast, orange peal and brown sugar; all the things you expect from a good German dunkelweiss. Sweet malty flavours balanced with spice note. Goes a little watery on the palate, though.

Bottle 50 cl. Courtesy of yespr. Comes as: "Waitrose Bavarian Dunkel Weissbier". Pours a hazy amber with a huge and frothy off-white head with good retention. Very subtle yeasty aroma. Medium body, very downplayed flavours, a little caramel and overripe plummy fruit with a little yeast. Has a slight tartness. To the thin side. 230212
