Bottle. Welbeck Farm Shop. Nearly black. Thin sticky beige foam. Nose has antiseptic. Bit of cardboard. Literally nothing suggests thereโs a barrel aged stout in the glass. Taste is savoury and sweet. Some acidity. Some burnt bitterness. Oily and cloying. Nasty bitter finish. Shite.

Cask at the Strugglers Inn, Lincoln. Jet black colour with a tan head. Aroma and taste are roasted malty and bitter. Slight sweetness. Plenty of boozy rum. Full smooth body.
