Hades is brewed with a rare Belgian yeast strain that gives a complex spicy flavor and aroma. Noticeable hops and medium malt character make it an extremely well-balanced, crisp ale. Hades goes great with a bowl of fresh mussels, crusty bread, and virtually any artesian cheese.

(Bottle, Oliver Twist, Stockholm) Pale golden colour with brief, foamy, white head. Fruity, malty nose with notes of citrus, apricots and spicy hops. Malty, fruity taste with citrus, apricots, pienapple, coriander, a hint of yeast and generous amounts of spicy, citrussy hops. Slightly above medium body, leaning in the sweet direction. Nice and tasty with a generous spicy hop character.

Bottle. Cardemom, anis and orange in the aroma. Sweetish flavor with orange and various spices (cardemom, coreander, anis). Also spices in the finish. Sticky mouthfeel. Just a touch of alcohol.

12 oz bottle from January 2009. Pours clear golden yellow with a white head. Clove and honey aroma with biscuit and a touch of spice. Clove and bread flavors, biscuit, a touch of hops. Bubblegum and green apple come up later, with an interesting, kind of chalky and fizzy palate. Hard to describe, but very good. Surprised by the low average here.

12 ounce bottle from Grape & Gourmet in Virginia Beach, VA. Pours a clear golden color with a thin head. Decent head retention and lacing. Fruity aroma with notes of bubblegum, ripe and unripe banana, spice, apple, caramel and bread. Taste is caramel and pepper along with other spices, light herbal notes and light apple/pear like fruit notes. Medium bodied and a bit sticky in texture. Fairly strong carbonation.

Bottle. Poured pale gold with a lasting white head. Full fruity aroma with a bit of citrus. Medium flavour with a crisp edge. And after all this, a bit of metal in the hoppy finish brought it down.

12oz bottle-pours a tight foamy white head that dissipates and yellow/gold color. Aroma is some funk/yeast, light malt-hay, some pepper, dry. Nice, almost an 8. Taste is some funk/yeast, light malt-hay, some lemon/herbal hops, some pepper. Minimum carbonation. Taste is a letdown. Thanks to Joe-jwc215 for sharing this.

A golden devil’s ale with a very thin white head. Pleasant bubble gum aroma, with orange peels and fusel alcohol. In mouth, a nice oily ale with warm banana bread, orange peels, very nice. On tap at brewery, 24 Jan. 2009.
