Der Körper leuchtet in dunklem schwarzbraun und trägt eine festliche, weiße Schaumkrone. Das ausgeprägte Röstmalzaroma sowie die intensive, harmonische und feinherbe Bittere kommen beim ersten Schluck herrlich an. Eine besondere Spezialität für Starkbiergenießer. Diese Odenwälder Bier-Spezialität passt gut zu Wild, Steaks sowie zu süßen Nachspeisen.

Clear mahogany with a large beige head. Sweet aroma with roasted malt, caramel and grassy hops. Flavour was fairly dry with caramel, roasted malt, grassy hops and rye bread. Finished dry and bitter.

50 cL bottle, courtesy of KimJohansen. Pours dark brown with a small tan head. Aroma is overripe fruity and roasted malt. Roasted malty flavoured. Breadish and mild fruity. Lasting breadish into the far finish. Lasting caramelish impression.

The bottle looks good, the beer in the glass also. Starts mild, modest malty, high ABV is well hidden. The finish is hoppy and dry, maltiness in the background. Very drinkable for a doppelbock. Not bad!

Bottle @ home.[Batch 2417] Clear medium red brown color with huge, frothy, excellent lacing, fully lasting, beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, chocolate. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium to full, texture is oily - creamy, carbonation is soft. (220608)

Bottle. Sweet caramel malt with moderate astringent alcohol aroma. Dark brown color with small head. Raisin malt and astringent alcohol flavor. Not bad - a bit on the rough side.

(Bottle 50 cl) Courtesy of MoritzF. Pours a clear, orangey brown with a dense, lacing off-white head. Sweetish aroma of roasted malt and some alcohol. Quite a full and very solid body with a shipload of roasted malt. Quite a bitter finish with a distinct alcohol burn. 191207

Bottled. An amber beer with a thin beige head. The aroma is has notes of bread and caramel as well as lighter notes of metal from the alcohol. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of caramel, metal, and alcohol.

Bottle, courtesy of Pivnizub. Dark red chestnut, creamy golden head. Nut and sweet berry aroma. Sweet dark sugar base, nuts light roast, sweet but never cloying. Easy drinakbale.

Bottle: Mahagony coloured, almost no head; restrained sweet-fruity and caramelly nose with a touch of molasses and alcohol; sweet flavour, medium bodied; moderate fruity-sweet ending with some bitterness showing up late. A decent Doppelbock... for beginners !

(bottle) Clear, mahogany colour with a mid-sized foamy beige head. Sweet, dark malty aroma, slightly bready with the imagination of dried fruits and hints of alcohol. Sweet flavour, full bodied with a moderate carbonation. Dark malty, toasty taste with a fruity hint, sweet malty finish with a warming well-integrated alcoholic note.
