Brewed in the bold spirit of Alaska, Sockeye Red IPA is a finely crafted Pacific Northwest-style India Pale Ale with a real bite. Ample pale two-row malt creates a fresh, firm body while specialty malts impart a spawning red hue. The predominant character of this fiesty catch comes from outlandish portions of Centennial, Cascade and Simcoe hops, giving this beer tremendous citrus and floral aroma and flavor.
Determined and bitter but amazingly balanced, Sockeye Red IPA is gnarly enough to take you hook, line and sinker. Forget about a bigger rig; grab a bigger glass.

Bottle 66cl. @ Amerikaner blindsmagning @ Papsoe, Bottle #22.]Clear medium amber color with a large, frothy - creamy, good lancing, fully lasting, off-white head. Aroma is caramel, pine neddle, moderate to heavy hoppy, grass, grapefruit, orange. Flavor is moderate sweet and heavy bitter with a long to average duration. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. (190608)

(Bottle 65 cl) Courtesy of MaltOMeal. Clear amber golden with a dense off-white head leaving laces. Fresh and hoppy aroma of peach and pine. Medium body with dry toasted caramel, some fruit and a very dry, bitter finish. 190608

Bottle. Papsoes MadsBerg homecoming blindtasting, bottle #22. Pours clear and golden orange to amber with a slowly collapsing light yellow head. Solid spiced and pinewood hops aroma. Flavour is dry hoppy with a mild to vague malt base. Rather thin body. Dry bitter finish with a mild citric note.

From Skyview’s bottle. A tasty, and somewhat above average, West Coast IPA. Brown color and a thin, white head that leaves a lace. Abundant floral, flowery hops in the aroma. Flavor is bitter, and a combination of herbal hops, and sweet malt. Medium palate. This is the sort of IPA you keep in the fridge all the time.

Suprise find at Tanakaya. Good looking copper with a big ’ol fluffy tan head. Grapefruit, pine, earth tones, and a caramel backbone. Could use a bit more in the aroma, but definitly the makings of an American IPA. Smooth and full bodied. Flavor is solid, but a little less than I was hoping for. Grapefruit and citrus, pine notes, resin, and the caramel malts are hanging in there, as well. Nicely bitter in the end, not the hop punch of the west coast. I was dissapointed at first, but warmed up to this IPA.

Aroma of citrus and floral hop. Coppery amber color with a ferocious beige head. Flavor of ripe stone fruit, a little citrus, and some slightly roasted malt. Medium bodied, and decent carbonation without a bite. Must be unpasteurized at least. Later sips are sweet fruit and bitter hop. The finish is fairly dry, and it is extremely tasty. Something of a rye note in the end.

Bottle pours a clear light mahogany with a full sandy colored head. Lots of blocky lacing. Aromoa is the requisite hoppy citrusy bite. Flavor is bitter light malts with a cardboardy papery bitter hop note. Medium feel and moderate carbonation. Decent balance. Thanks to Jake65 for this one.

Bottle: Pours a transparent amber color with a large, foamy white head. Nice, thick lacing. Nose is a soft citrus with malty sweetness. Taste is dominated by citrus hops, floral tones, grassey, and sugary sweet malt. Dry, lingering finish.

22 oz bottle. Just got this from Belmont Station two months ago, but the label is notched Dec ’02?? Pours with a huge head of light tan that settles very slowly into a crystal clear, medium amber beer. Soft pine and smooth malt aroma. Cookie dough and caramel. Smooth light body. Strongly bitter with just enough malt to hold this one up. A bit off balance.
