Imperial Stout w/ Espresso Roast Coffee, Roasted Almonds, Marshmallow & Madagascan Vanilla Beans brewed in collaboration with Avon, NY’s Mortalis Brewing
For this version, we took the same big imperial stout base and then conditioned it on a boatload of house roasted almonds, Shooting Star Espresso Roast coffee from our friends at @manicpixiedreamcoffee , marshmallow and Madagascan vanilla beans.

Like with all these big adjunct stouts, there is an enormous investment in the form of time and raw materials and this one was no exception. For this half batch, our kitchen team hand roasted 100 lbs of almonds. This worked out to 54 commercial baking sheets going into the oven 3 at a time for 8 minutes each. This was for just 400L of beer at a rate of nearly 30lbs/bbl. A massive undertaking to say the least but the absurd almond character imparted into this beer makes it all worth it. This one is an absolute treat.

A deep dark stout with a thin mocha head. In aroma, sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, light coffee, light Almond, alcohol warmth, very nice. In mouth, a nice sweet fruity chocolate malt with dark fruits, light coffee notes, light Almond, alcohol warmth, very nice.
