Red-brown ale, +/- clear, and small off-white head. Juniper, bog-myrtle, lavender; jumble of strange spices. Very woody, black cardemoms, dry-spicy flavours, much more balanced than the nose. Sweet restsugars surviving. Medium bodied, burning-spicy MF. It’s quite daring, and original, but maybe a little searched for me. Again many thanks to the brewer-couple.

CBF07 sample from tap. Pours amber. Aroma is malty, not too sweet, slight spiced. Flavour is malty and berries beneath a good smoke profile. Finish is dry malty.

(Bottle 50 cl) Pours a hazy, dark amber with a creamy, beige head leaving some laces. Distinct aroma of peat smoke. Medium body, sweetish roasted malt notes, some lightly licorice-like spicyness and then again this very distinct, peaty smoke. The finish is more dry than really bitter. A very unusual beer. 180207

A deep dark red beer with a huge, but collapsing brown head. The aroma is quite sweet and malt with strong notes of sweet berries, like a good jam, but also with lighter notes of smoke from peat. The flavor is sweet with strong notes of herbs, spices, red berries, and peat smoked malt, leading to a more dry than bitter end, with a bit of acidity from the roasted malt. A really nice beer.

On tap at Horsens Beerfestival. It poured unclear and brown, topped by a small beige head. Well-balanced aroma with some roasted or burnt notes, along with spicyness. The flavor is nice and balanced as well, with the same elements as in the aroma. Medium to full body and a finish with herbal notes. (061028)

Hazy amber color. There is some smokey aroma; taste of malt and dark caramel; when warmer it’s more smokey. The final is short, empty.

[Bottle] Hazy, dark red brown colour. Rich head. Smoked, meaty aroma with a sourish touch of winegums. Ashy flavour with notes of caramel and sourish rowanberries. Interesting.
