Bottled at RBESG. Hazy amber creamy mid-sized head. Caramelly and almondy nose. Sweet and almost full bodied. A bit fruitywith evidet vanilla and toffee flavours, notes of pears. Low on hops, so the salty finish goes more towards chocolate. One of the better beers from Gourmetbryggeriet IMO.

66cl bottle. Vintage 2006 it says. Pours hazy amber wih a creamy off white head. Aroma is sweet of plums, roasted malts & very vinous - the oak/barrel is involved in both aroma & taste. Low carbonation & an oily & sticky palate. Very round, creamy, warm, mild & pleasant. Very well made & easily enjoyable!

Bottle 900. Deep red brown with a fine tan head. Classic barleywine aroma, plums, dark sugar and port dominates. There is a hint of oak/bourbon, possibly subconciously because I know it’s half barrel aged. Strong vineous and sweet flavour, some dark caramel is playing up against hop bitterness and a little oak tannins. Flying in green hops is a little wasted in such a beer, but it’s delicious anyway.

66 cL bottle. Pours deep brown to amber and with a dense light brown head. Sweet fruity, citrus hoppy and slight wineous aroma. In addition it holds a bit of malt. Flavour is smooth chocolate and some roasted malt. Medium sweet. Ends with a warming feel and decent winous heavy bitterness - smooth yet sharp finish. Suprisingly great experience!
