FAT RAIN is a riff on our first fruited sour, BEAM. We sour it over the weekend with Lactobacillus plantarum, and towards the end of fermentation add sour cherries, blackcurrants and blackberries for some fruity complexity.

There’s an exciting moment with this beer – when we add the fruits in using our hop rocket we see the colour of the beer change from a light straw to a dark autumnal hue.

Here comes the colour, here comes the FAT RAIN.

Can at home in Hackney - picked up from All Good Beer (I think). Pours well clear pinkish red with a quickly fading, foamy pink head. Just lightly sweet, with fairly restrained fruit character, modest acidity, nips of blackberry, raspberry, cherry. Light bodied with active, spritzy carbonation. Pretty clean and dry in the finish, quenching, more relaxed berry notes, refreshing acidity. Could be stronger on the fruit front but it's a nice-drinking beer overall.
