Bottle at home in London - sourced from the Lab. It opens with a loud, lasting hiss but, thankfully, does not gush. It does, however, pours with a billowing, growing tan froth head. The colour of the beer itself is deep amber, and it’s clear. Coaxing some aroma through all the head is no mean feat, but you can pick up notes of dirty leaves, old leather, earth. Light sweet flavor with prominent dried, leathery berries, bitter earth, old wood, leaves. Light to medium bodied with lively, mouth-filling carbonation. Somewhat drying on the finish, with light tannins, more earth, bitter apple skins, more leathery berries, wood, faint plum. It’s not bad, but the flavors are fairly one-dimensional and a little bland even. Just drinkable.
