Created in 2007 and named after a cave perched atop the majestic Cheddar Gorge, Totty Pot carries with it a delightful legend: the cave was unearthed using nothing more than a potty as a digging tool. While various Mesolithic artifacts were discovered, the young son of the cave finder struggled to pronounce "potty" and affectionately dubbed it his “totty pot.”

This multi-award-winning, bottle-conditioned Dark Porter captivates the senses with its rich hints of roasted coffee and a velvety malt finish.

Brewed with the utmost care, it features a blend of the finest Pale Ale, Maris Otter, Chocolate, Crystal, Wheat, and Roasted Malts, harmoniously combined with a selection of English Northdown and Goldings hops.

With an ABV of 4.5%, Totty Pot offers a smooth and indulgent drinking experience that pays homage to its intriguing origins. Enjoy this exceptional brew and let it transport you to the enchanting world of Cheddar Gorge!

Bottled. A deep red beer with a huge dark brown head. The aroma has notes of malt, caramel, roastes malt, and straw. The flavor is sweet with notes of straw, malt, and caramel, leading to a dry finish.

[Bottle conditioned, Dad shared it wih me - cheers!] Black with a moderate beige head. Far too fizzy for the style. Liquorice dominates with a bit of smoke & coffeee in a dry finish. Didn’t do it for me.

Biggish brown head. Nearly opaque black body shows faint translucent dark brown at edges. Milky roasty smoky aroma with chocolatey earthy notes. Dry-sweetish earthy fruity taste with roasty metallic notes. Mid-to-light body. Mild mouthfeel. Dry roasty earthy metallic aftertaste with burnt notes. Quite nice, but not major. bottle from Darts Farm, Exeter, Devon. Deep black colour, small but persistent beige head. Malty nose. Rather light-bodied, very shy malt flavours, lots of roasted malt and coffee, also cocoa powder. Dry mouthfeel. Interestingly, I can detect flavours of Blue Stilton cheese.
