Our Gran Met (Grand Master) is an Ale made from our Propriatery yeast from a small brewery in Belgium. We use Cane and Beet sugar, along with German Pilsner Malt to create the unique flavor of this age old style. We also use a unique fermentation process of slowly adding the sugars to the fermentation during fermentation. This allows the yeast to more slowly ferment the beer without overloading the yeast. This process allows for a more clean, tight flavor profile.

I purchased this at a bodega in Greenwich Village for a reasonable price. Unfortunately, the price bespoke of the perils of this ale. The beer pours a headless dark apple juice color. The aroma is mostly fine. Coriander, yeast, blah blah. Taste is way too sweet. It sticks to the mouth and doesn’t let go. There are not very many positive things to say about this brew.

750 ml bottle. Pours a deep caramel/copper color with a medium white head, some gushing. A big sweet nose of caramel and sugar. The flavor of candy sugar and beet sugar is massive, light spices, way too much sweetness. Not hot. Decent.

Cloudy amber beer. Semi dry palate. Very odd flavour. Like a dry spicy tripel but with an odd tangy sweetness. Finishes dry and quite warming. Doesn’t hang together for me.

A lightly hazed blonde belgian ale with a thin white head. In aroma, lightly fruity esters with orange peels, coriander, creamy and smooth. In mouth, a sweet candy sugar with orange peels, light Belgian hops, loads of warming alcohol, not bad. On tap at PA Flavor, April 9th, 2011.

Appearance: It pours a cloudy golden-orange color with a frothy white head with streaky lace
Flavor: The taste is medium-high sweet, both sugary and spicy, with minimal bitterness
Palate: The body is medium with somewhat soft carbonation, a slightly sticky feel, and a bit of heat
Overall Impression: Overall, I thought this was a decent Belgian style ale. It wasn't the greatest example of the style, but it wasn't a poor example either. I enjoyed it enough, solid stuff.

1-2-10--bomber--pours a cloudy light copper--sweet aroma --mild spicy yeast in the flavor--a little hop bite in the finish--sweet fresh yeast smells--some honey scattered by human bees--nothing special , but quite tasty--alcohol well hidden

Sampled from a 22 oz brown bottle this beer poured a hazy dark golden color with a small white head that faded quickly. The aroma was strong tangy tropical fruit and sugar. The flavor was gritty sugar, candied orange and grape, tropical fruit, and a touch of vague dry spices. The finish was long, tangy a bit spicy with tropical fruit lingering. The mouthfeel was thick. Solid.
