Bottled (thanks cgarvieuk & omhper). Deep brownish amber colour with not much head. Aroma is alcohol, mild wood, licorice, dry dark fruits and raisins. Flavour is licorice, alchol, some vanilla nad raisins. Also toffeeishness in the background.

33clbottle@vinensverden,Odense: Dark brown with a short white head. Roasted malts. Liquiorice, caramel, sugar & dark fruits - prune/raisin. Alcohol warmth & sweetness. Low carbonation & a soft, full & well rounded body. Nice!

Bottle: Clear, reddish to dark amber coloured, smaller, but stable off-white head, solid almondy to nutty nose with traces of roasted malt and alcohol; robust sweet-bitter flavour, medium to full bodied; full sweet-malty finish with traces of coffee or cacao. Superb, well rounded stuff............

[i] Bottle thanks to cgarvieuk (Craig) cheers!, had this on Christmas Eve 07 [/i] A wonderful aroma of sweet molasses on the nose of this very dark brown beer that glinted with ruby sparkles in the right light, good creamy off-white head on this fine specimen. Lovely creamy beer that improves dramatically in the mouth a real slow burner that takes just a little time to unleash it’s multitude of flavours. great chocolate, burnt sugars, some toffee lovely its a very good beer that almost joined the 4 and above club but just didn’t quite make it at the end, still I loved it.

Dark brown color. Smoke, peat, dark chocolate and caramel indicate to me what Scotland really smells like. Rich, syrupy malty mouth. Cherries, caramel, dark chocolate and oranges, plus a lingering whisky and orange-chocolate finish make this an excellent winter warmer. My favorite Traquair.

Strong sweet and roasted taste, also raissins, still surprisingly mild, odd. 33 cL bottle, thanks to joergen. Pours hazy brown with a light off-white head. Slight malty aroma. Flavour is sweet malty. Almost like a kellerbier.

(Bottle 33 cl) Courtesy of joergen. Clear, dark amber golden with a small, beige head. Vinous aroma of dried and overripe fruit. Quite full-bodied with sweet notes of dried fruit, a touch of prunes I believe and a somewhat chocolatey finish. Nice but not overly spectacular. Probably will improve with age. 280907

Deep ruby colour. Dense head. Sweet chocolate and toffee aroma. Surprisingly thin mouth feel. Sweet, warming black currant and liquorice flavour. Warming alcohol in the finish. Never been a fan of the Traquair ales but this wasn’t too bad.

Bottle: Poured a deep burgundy color ale with a medium foamy head with some OK retention. Aroma of fruit cake with some light figs notes also discernable. Taste is a mix between some fruity aroma reminiscent of fruit cake as well as some light figs and some medium caramel malt. Hops are very subtle and body was slightly too light for the style.
