Bottled (from Ölkonsortiet, Aalborg). Deep ruby colour with mediumsized beige foamy head. Aroma is lots of hops, mild alcohol and some hints grass and toffee. Flavour is hops, mild chocolate, slight roasted tones as well as some pineapple and mild toffee. Aftertaste is sweet toffee and quite sweet wooden notes. Mildly burning alcohol, but generally it hides the alchol very well. Dangerously easy to drink.

Botle. A clear, ruby beer with a finger thick dense beige head. Hoppy, fruity aroma indicating lots of sweetness. Touch of alcohol. Citrus, resin and some vague notes of cooked vegetables and beefstock too. Fizzy and sweet in the mouth, with some warming qualities. Caramel sweetness, beef-stock, a hint of cooked vegetables, some alcohol, pine-cones, fluor notes, some roasted malt and some bitterness in the flavor. Actually, it’s quite low on bitterness, considering all the sweetness. It’s more bitter in the finish, where also the initial flavors chime in. I’m not very impressed with this one, still there’s something about it I like. Had to go and cut me a slice of cheese and some sausage to go with it, that lifted the experience a bit. (080925)

Copper brown color, small off-white head. Plum, caramel malts and alcoholic plus notes of honey in the nose. Very alcoholic. Lots of red wineish tannins and oaky flavors. Dry mouthfeel. Some toffeish notes.

Huge beige lasting head. Brown body with yeast particles. Caramelly straw aroma with dusty papery hoppy notes. Dry-sweet intense caramelly malty nutty taste with grainy straw and alcohol notes. Some papery roastiness, too. Full-bodied soft and smooth with lots of carbonation. Clean. Dry hoppy straw caramel malt aftertaste is loong. Minty notes. Very sweet, but balanced by lots of hops. Leaves sticky sugar on lips. Very nice. (0.5l bottle from gr0ve.)

Bottle at Chris_o birthday bash 08. Beautiful amber/copper colour with thin beige head. Hey, it’s got some hops on the end. Hot alcohol, thickish malts. Attractive hops and it doesn’t taste of 10%

Cloudy amber beer with a lasting off-white head. Weak aroma, dominated by bready munich malt, with a little sweet candy-like fruit. Malty sweet flavour, some bitterness. Creamy full body, bordering on thick mouthfeel. The world’s first California Common Doppelbock?
