Can @ Thisted Tasting by Maria.. Clear light to medium yellow color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly diminishing, white head. Aroma is light to moderate malty, toasted, light to moderate hoppy, flowers - perfume, cardboard. Flavor is moderate sweet with a average duration. Body is light to medium, texture is watery, carbonation is soft. (120408)

Can. It pours a clear, rather pale golden body with a big, creamy white head leaving nice lacings. To pale to get appearance rating from me. Grainy and slightly malty-sweet aroma. A little fruity touch too. Malty and fruity aroma with a little bitterness. Yellow apples is the most evident fruityness. Both aroma and flavor are weak, and the finish is fruity but lacks bitterness. Thin body. Leaves a cardboardy, slightly sticky feeling in the mouth. The word ’grusomme’ in Norwegian can mean both ’evil’ or ’cruel’, and it is also used for the word ’horrible’. To me it seems Lervig is aiming at the last one. They already have a quite decent pilsner in their range, so why they use their energy on this one is a mystery to me. I have to add that I don’t hate it, it’s just almost as boring as it gets. 500 ml black can. When we hope for a black beer inside, we get just another pilsener / pale lager! Crystal clear very pale yellow colour, large to low head. Strong and sweetish industrial pale lager aroma with notes of artificial candy and maize. The flavour is bland and sweetish, with a slight hoppy bitterness in the finish. I am amazed that Lervig can’t make a better show of it.
